Update from the Chairman – Re: COVID-19

London, UK.

Since I last wrote to you on this subject, things in the UK have moved very swiftly. The Prime Minister has announced a virtual lock down of the country with only essential workers and the emergency services allowed to travel, so I wanted to update you on what James Andrew International is doing in each of our divisions.

All of our commercial agency staff are working from home, endeavouring to close deals that commenced before the first announcements on this virus. Please use their email or their mobile numbers to contact them.

In relation to our commercial property management teams, they are working hard to ensure the buildings remain operational and ready for the return of the UK workforce. In the larger buildings we have retained the security, cleaning, and maintenance teams who are using the opportunity to catch up on maintenance and to deep clean the common areas in anticipation of a return to work. In smaller buildings we are ensuring weekly inspections at the very minimum and checks for leaks and signs of unauthorised access. If you attend an unmanned site you may find the lift isolated to prevent entrapment. If you have a management issue on a commercial building please call your building manager or our out of hours helpline:  0333 222 4465 or email to: jai@propertyserveuk.com

These are difficult times for both owners and occupiers of properties and as managing agents we will endeavour to work with you wherever we can be of assistance.

In the residential buildings we manage we are attempting to offer service as normal. We have been asked why the concierge are still working but can confirm they are there for the safety of the building and the residents. They will accept deliveries for self-isolating residents and leave this at the apartment door as well as ensuring the premises are safe.

On behalf of the directors and staff at James Andrew International, we wish you all the best, and hope that you, your family, and friends stay healthy and safe.

Harvey M. Soning
